QSM Diagnostics is trying to identify what is causing the infectious respiratory disease affecting dogs across the US. 

 

Several states have reported incidents of dogs suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms though little is known about the illness and how it spreads.

 

We are offering free testing for veterinarians who have dogs with the following symptoms

 

• kennel cough type symptoms (coughing, difficulty breathing, sneezing, nasal and/or eye discharge and lethargy). 

• less likely to respond to standard medical treatment.

• usually negative on syndromic canine respiratory disease PCR testing.

• have a long course of illness, with some progression to pneumonia.

 

In order to participate please send us a swab from your dogs eye or nose.

 

While no results will be provided, if we identify the cause of illness, we will send out information as soon as it becomes available.
